We talk sculpting, makeup and skincare with the new face of Rodial
Rodial is introducing a new revolution. Two years in the making, the brands new sculpting makeup collection not only expands their innovative range into a whole new sector, but brings the Hollywood trend of contouring to the masses.

‘Sculpting makeup with colour is a natural evolution for Rodial as it perfectly complements the existing skincare range. Rodial makeup is a capsule range of pieces designed to sculpt and define the face for a natural, flawless & radiant look’ Maria Hatzistefanis, Founder of Rodial.
So is it as easy as it looks? We speak to brand ambassador Daisy Lowe for some insider info.
1. How did it feel to be awarded the Woman of The Year at the Rodial Awards in March?
It was really lovely! I got really nervous because I have never been given anything before. I have always been a massive fan of their products, so then to be given that was really sweet.
2. So we know that Rodial loves you, but what do you love about Rodial? I love that it is really luxurious, really high-end. The packaging is all really stylish – all the colours are really on point and I love that they do a lot of research into everything. It’s all very scientific, intelligent and most importantly looks after your skin.
3. What is your go-to beauty look? I love tinted moisturiser, a bit of contouring, a cheeky glow and a tiny bit of highlighter with brown eyeliner and curled eyelashes. I like being able to do my makeup in under ten minutes because I spend so much time in hair and makeup jobs, that when I’m in real life I’d rather not take too much time.
4. Tell us about the New Sculpting with Colour Collection, what is it and why is it so special? It is for the modern woman who cares about the way that they look but is happy to get up and go. It is all done in three really easy sculpting, bronzing and highlighting steps. It’s a capsule range – it’s not massive, so it means that it’s easy to pick what is right for you. And all of it is really simple and easy to use – it’s kind of like an idiot’s guide!
5. Have you tried contouring much before now?
Yes, I love contouring. My makeup artist is a big fan of it so I have always liked it. When I go out I always do contouring – it’s just a really flattering way to deal with my face!
6. What’s would you say the secret is to contouring well? Know the line of your face! So if you imagine from your cheekbone up to your temple is one line and then you have to do the line just below that. The angle is key. If you get it wrong then you can end up looking really eighties with a stripe across your face – not a look to aim for!
7. Do you have a favourite item from the range? I have three. Hyaluronic Cheek Sculpt, as it’s really subtle as a colour but also plumps up your cheeks. The Eye Sculpt is also really amazing – you have to work quite quickly with it but it does not move. It means you can wear it to work and then maybe add mascara for the evening but you don’t have to touch your actual eye makeup. The brown eyeliner is also brilliant – you can smoke it up a little bit, but again, it does not move after it has dried and set.
8. You are known for your perfectly feline eyes – how do you apply your liner so well? I usually end up just smudging it because then it looks a lot more perfect than when I actually do it. Hold, swipe, a little bit of a rub with a nice brush and up, up and away!
9. You always seem to have perfectly glowing skin – how do you keep your complexion so clear? I do tend to try and stay on top of it – I have Super Elixir every day which is really good. I use a lot of the Rodial masks which keep my skin in check. I really like the Hangover Mud Mask and I love that Snake Venom one – it gets rid of everything! I love skincare and all of my night creams and then drinking loads and loads of water which is a really great tip that really works.
10. Would you say diet is important to your beauty regime? I did two and a half weeks straight with not a single bit of bad sugar and my skin was completely crystal. And then I have been travelling and it is really difficult to not have naughty sugar and I have noticed a couple of things coming up. It depends on person to person because I know some friends who can eat sugar by the bucket load and it doesn’t affect them, but if your hormones don’t like it then they just don’t like it. I am one of those people sadly!
11. Your mother Pearl is also a beauty icon, has she passed down any rituals? She always told me I wasn’t allowed to pluck my eyebrows too much which I think was a really good one. She just loves me very pale – the Snow White look, which sometimes I go for to make her happy!
12. Who is your beauty idol and why? I would have to say Scarlet O’Hara in Gone With The Wind.
Filter or no filter? No Filter.
Fake Bake or real rays? Real Rays – I don’t trust myself with fake tan. I had a real binge when I was 15. Never again!
False lashes – do or don’t? I tend not to because one ends up halfway down my face!
Pat on the powder or go for the glow? Go or the glow!
Bold lippie or slick of gloss? Bold Lippie.
Va va voom hair or sleek as they come? Va va voom hair definitely
