It boasts white sand beaches, turquoise waters and low temperatures of 23°C - what more could you ask for? Don’t be fooled by the size of Bora Bora, there is plenty to see and do, from water sports to shopping and lots of local food to try out. Take a look at what Bora Bora has to offer.
Given its location, Bora Bora covers a vast majority of water sports. If you are a more adventurous traveller, this is the destination for you. Spend your time sailing or diving. You can hire your own boat to travel around the island and explore the lagoon - you are sure to see plenty of different types of creatures on your travels!
If you would like to stay dry when you take in the sights of Bora Bora, you can venture on the island by horseback. Or, for the panoramic view, try parasailing.
Breakfast in bed is an ideal start to a day off, but in Bora Bora, you can start your day with breakfast via canoe. Crepes, croissants, fruit all can be delivered to you on canoe for an authentic island experience. For a picture perfect day, head to Matira Beach. The beach is white sand, and the waters are exceptionally clear. You may even see a ray or two swimming past while you are there. Matira Beach is the ideal spot in Bora Bora to watch the sunset.
Shopping in Bora Bora is a unique experience. You can buy black pearls, woven hats and fabrics that are used by the locals - to name a few. The types of items you can pick up on your travels on the island are unlike anything you will find anywhere else. Vaitape has boutique stores where you can buy a one off piece to remember your trip.
